Secret

Dear Mr. Juarez.
I always stare at your favorite pen and I, now, realize why it is your favorite pen. It is perfectly pointed, writes smoothly, and filled with perfect ink that smells good. When I see you writing with it, I get so jealous because I want to be using that perfect pen. I day dream about that pen. One day while you were out of the class, I took that pen off of your desk and used that it to write my daily journals. I replaced your perfect pen with a look a like of my crappy pen. I was so excited and happy to use it. I was not finished with my journal, and I had to use that pen to finish it, so I took it home. When I got home I began working on my journal and just when I finished it had run out of ink so i left the pen on the desk to go find some. While I was looking for ink, my dog had grabbed the pen off the desk and put it in the toilet. I was so mad, but I got some gloves and got it out. The next day of school I put the imperfect pen back on your desk. It was no longer a perfect pen because it had no ink and sat in toilet water. I apologize
                                                                                                                    Sincerely,
                                                                                                                                  Leanna

Supernatural

For multiple reasons, using a supernatural approach is the most effective in writing a gothic novel, such as Frankenstein. The main goal of a gothic novel is horror and making the reader feel a sense of fear for what is happening in the story. It keeps the reader engaged and can also put a sort of "twist" to the plot. Many people fear the unknown and are interested to always find out more. In the book Frankenstein both Victor and Robert are interested to find out more even though they are very intelligent. Victor spent a great amount of time in college studying many sciences such as physiology. With the amount of intelligence he had,  Victor created a mysterious creature. While making the creature, he was very fond of his making, but he later realized what he was capable of and that he had created a " Monster". The monster is the supernatural event in the story and is a major component to the plot.

Frankenstein and a Ghost story

Mary Shelly starts the book of Frankenstein in a way like no other. She starts off with 4 letters written from a man named Robert Walton to his sister Margaret. Walton tells his sister about his voyage and during this time is when we (the readers) see his feelings, thoughts, and the people and dangers he encounters. Walton meets a mysterious stranger that foreshadows the book of Frankenstein. If I were to write a ghost story, I would probably find it effective to start with something , such as letters, to foreshadow and provide the readers with more knowledge just like Mary Shelly did. I would do this because it will set up the base of the story. Although it may confuse people, confusion may make the story more interesting because the readers would want to keep reading and find out more. There could possibly be a twist and it could draw the readers into the story.

A World Without Electricity

If all the electricity/ electronic devices have ceased to work I would spend most of my free time (as usual) at my boyfriend Brandon's house. Usually we just watch TV and play on our phones but if electricity stopped working we world probably play outside, and on rainy, cold or snowy days we would play board games inside and compete against one another . I think that a loss of electricity would not be a terrible thing for Brandon and I because it would force us to be more engaged in one another and we could be more active. As to having long distance friends or friends that do not live close to me, it would be very hard to communicate because writing letters is just to complex, now in days, and many people would easily loose friendships. If anything, I would just hope that the electricity would only stop working for a small amount of time.

A Responsibility Handled

A time when I was given a responsibility that I did not think I could handle was when I had to babysit for the first time by myself. Normally when I babysat, it would be with me sister Devanie, and we would babysit 3 boys. One of the boys was still a baby, another one was 10, and the oldest one was 14. The problem that I had was that the 14 year old boy had many disabilities such as being blind, deaf, and he was not able to eat properly. I was always afraid of him because he had a tendenacy to hit people. When I was asked to babysit I had become very nervous because I did not think that I would be able to handle it. The 10 year old boy had helped me to take care of his brothers and he signed to his deaf brother whenever I did not know the correct sign language. After babysitting that day, I was no longer fearful and I had a feeling of accomplishment.

Advice about the OGTs

Some advice that I would give to the next class that has to take the OGTs is to not stress about it and to take their time. I believe that they should not stress because the teachers have covered the majority of the questions that would or could be on the test in that specific subject. There is also no need to stress because it is suppose to be a test that everyone in the state of Ohio could pass. The OGT was not meant to be extremely difficult and make a student doubt their knowledge. If they do not pass it the first time, there is still more opportunities to take it again and pass it. By taken their time it should raise their probability of passing the test because they have read it and payed attention to it more efficiently. It may also give the student a chance to think about their previous knowledge to help with that specific question. The OGTs is not a very hard test and I think that more than the majority of the students should pass.
